Welcome

I've been inspired by my cousin Jody's blog (link under my blog list) about our family and realized that I also have a lot of stories I've uncovered when doing genealogy over the last 20+ years. So, so many stories. Let's dig in.

Both sides of my family have lived in Western NY for over 200 years, migrating from New England, across NY state and settling in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties around 1810. They helped settle those areas and researching their stories has been such a rewarding experience. 

Some stories I have more information on than others. My paternal grandmother kept all the letters my father wrote home when he served in the Army in WWII and my father dated the photographs he took at that time. What a treasure those are! My maternal grandmother kept a diary for over 70 years. Although brief, he entries have uncovered stories I never knew about and forced me to dig deeper.
